Although there are over 700 ant species in the United States, only around 25 of them often infest dwellings. Ants are social insects that live in subterranean colonies led by a queen and her workers. Ants will consume nearly anything, although they are particularly fond of sweets. Ant identification is straightforward due to their three distinct body regions: head, thorax, and abdomen, as well as antennae. Despite their fundamental design, ants exhibit a wide range of looks. Small, huge, brown, and black ants are all names for different species of ants.
