Termite season is here once again

It's that season here on Long Island: Termite season! Their amassing season commonly starts in late March and early April and can last through May or early June. The underground termites will swarm commonly during the late morning when it's warm, and normally following precipitation.

Termites are active all year, although they are less active during the winter months and late spring because they won't look for food if the ground is too hot or too cold. Our spring season on Long Island is great for termite migration. Regrettably, not all property owners are aware of the necessity to protect themselves against infestation. The question isn't whether you'll get termites; it's when you'll get them. Termites will begin to swarm during this season, which is the most obvious sign that you have a termite problem.

Termite Infestation Symptoms:

Damaged Wood- Because termites eat wood from the rear to the front, this can be difficult to spot early on in an infestation. Termite damage should be checked on wood that sounds "empty."

Mud Tubes- These are easy to recognize since they appear just what their name implies: a mud container. They can be found on dividers inside or outside your home, as well as on any other wooden building. Mud cylinders can be round or level, and are typically 1/4′′ or more in diameter.
