Summer is nearly here, So are the Summer Pests...

With summer approaching, we're seeing changes in precipitation and temperatures, which are causing new growth and reawakening pests. As the weather warms, summer bugs emerge to put a stop to your pleasure of the outdoors. Carpenter ants, mosquitoes, spiders, termites, mice, and rats are among the resurgent soldiers. It's critical to safeguard your family and property from the harm and risks that these pests may cause. Read on to learn about some of the dangers that these warm-weather pests pose.

Mosquitos
For everyone, the "buzz" that hovers in a dark room at night can be insane. The itchy bite isn't the only thing to be concerned about. West Nile virus, Zika virus, dengue fever, Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE), Western equine encephalitis (WEE), St. Louis encephalitis, and chikungunya fever are all mosquito-borne viruses that can cause significant sickness in you and your family.

Carpenter Ants
Summer insects do not consume wood; instead, they dig it to make a nest. Carpenter ants prefer to build their nests outside, but they can also be lured inside. Once inside, these insects burrow through wood, populate your home's walls, and jeopardize its structural integrity.

Spiders
The majority of spiders found in the United States are harmless, however brown recluse and black widow spiders are very poisonous and can be fatal if bitten. Although most spiders are non-toxic or have a very sensitive section of their mouth that cannot pierce human skin, being around them is not enjoyable! Controlling the food source surrounding your home is the greatest strategy to keep spiders from rushing and leaping in and around your house. Keep in mind that spiders consume other insects, thus eliminating other insects surrounding your home would diminish their food source. Most web-spinning spiders like to be near a light source because it aids in catching flying insects drawn to the light. In nature, spiders are solitary creatures; unlike ants and bees, they do not dwell in vast groups. They prefer to operate alone as hunters and do not share food. In contrast to bee and ant infections, which end when the queen is killed and the colony falls, spider infections may be efficiently treated one at a time.

Termites
These predatory summer beetles are notorious for their voracious hunger for wood. They are social insects that live in colonies, similar to bees and ants. They are primarily subterranean (soil-dwelling) insects, but when found inside houses and businesses, they may be a major problem.

Mice & Rats
Rodents may spread a variety of illnesses to people, either directly by bites, contacts, or urine, or indirectly through vectors (infected fleas that then bite humans). Plague, rat-bite fever, hantavirus, tularemia, lymphocytic choriomeningitis, leptospirosis, salmonella, and pathogenic E. coli infections are only a few of the illnesses spread by Rodents.
